Dagupan plants 300 coconut seedlings on National Coconut Week

THE city government, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority, marked the 39th National Coconut Week with a tree-planting activity on December 8, in One Bonuan.

With support from the City Agriculture Office led by City Agriculturist Mary Ann Salomon, volunteers planted 300 coconut seedlings. They were joined by the Dagupan City Police under Col. Orly Pagaduan, Bantay Ilog, and Ulopan na Sumisigay ed Pugaro headed by Letty Camacho.

Mayor Belen Fernandez thanked the organizers and participants, stressing the coconut tree’s vital role in daily livelihood and community development.

Dagupan leaders join JCSGO’s 35th Anniversary

Mayor Belen Fernandez and Vice Mayor Bryan Kua joined the 35th anniversary celebration of Jesus Christ Saves Global Outreach (JCSGO) Dagupan Sector at the People’s Astrodome on Sunday, December 7.

Mayor Fernandez thanked the ministry for its unwavering support to the city and recognized the church’s role in driving meaningful change in the community. She also underscored the importance of faith during times of calamity, noting with relief that Dagupan recorded zero casualties in the wake of Typhoon Uwan.

Dagupan cited as DepEd’s top partner

Dagupan City was once again recognized as the Department of Education’s Top Partner under the Corporate Category during the 2025 Division Stakeholders’ Convergence and Appreciation Program held, December 5, at The Grand Lourds Hotel.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez said the award reflects the city’s strong partnership with DepEd in improving student welfare. She also highlighted upcoming education projects aimed at boosting learning support across the city.

Mayor Fernandez likewise received the Top Partner Award under the Individual Category for her continued dedication to strengthening education programs in Dagupan.
