THE Manaoag local government unit bagged two Gawad Serbisyong Mahusay awards during the 2025 Knowledge Fair held on December 5 in Bauang, La Union.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), led by Lynie Abar, was cited for its strong program documentation and effective delivery of services for the youth and families in the town.

In the Children Sector, the MSWDO was honored for its “BUHAY at PAG-ASA (BPA): Para sa Batang Nagkasala” program, a community-based intervention for Children in Conflict with the Law and Children at Risk, authored by Ronald C. Bautista.

In the Family and Community Sector, the “KALYEseries: Rising from the Streets to the Heights of Hope” program, documented by Bernadette G. Zabala, was recognized for uplifting vulnerable youth and families.

Abar thanked Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario for his support, saying the awards affirm the town’s commitment to protecting and empowering the youth and strengthening families. (Ahikam Pasion)
