Pump attendant arrested for alleged theft in San Manuel

A pump attendant at a San Manuel gas station was arrested after an internal audit revealed a P6,612 shortage in his sales remittances from November 8 to 25. The station’s HR officer filed the complaint after noticing discrepancies in collections, later supported by a co-worker who said he saw the attendant handing money to an unidentified person on November 20 using funds from daily sales.

The findings raised doubts about the suspect’s handling of customer payments, prompting management to bring the case to the police. The 28-year-old attendant, whose name was withheld, is now detained at the San Manuel Police Station as investigators prepare to file a charge of qualified theft against him.
