Man dies in motorcycle crash 

A 25-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a road mishap in Barangay Dalanguiring, Urbiztondo, on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Jonathan Torio de Guzman, a local mechanic, reportedly lost control of his eastbound motorcycle and slammed into a roadside fence. Police said the impact left him with severe injuries.

De Guzman was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. His wrecked motorcycle is now under the custody of the Urbiztondo Police Station as investigators continue to determine the cause of the crash.

Man nabbed in Mangaldan drug-bust

A 50-year-old meat butcher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Nibaliw, Mangaldan, after he was caught selling shabu to undercover operatives of the PNP and PDEA. Police seized seven heat-sealed plastic sachets containing about 55 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P374,000. Also recovered were the buy-bust and boodle money, a pouch containing the drugs, a cellphone, and a motorcycle used by the suspect.

He is now detained at the Pangasinan PPO’s PDEU office for documentation ahead of inquest proceedings. Charges for selling and possessing illegal drugs, in violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, are being filed against him.

House razed in San Jacinto

A fire gutted a two-story house in Brgy. Macayug, San Jacinto, on Tuesday evening, leaving its second floor in ruins as investigators work to determine what sparked the blaze. The house, owned by Rolando Nabua, was already 60% engulfed when firefighters arrived around 7:00 p.m., according to Fire Inspector Armando Ramos, San Jacinto BFP fire marshal. Responders managed to knock down the flames within 30 minutes.

No one was injured, but the fire caused heavy damage to the upper floor. While the probe continues, investigators are looking into a possible electrical fault in the house’s wiring as the source of the blaze. The BFP is urging residents to check their electrical systems regularly to avoid similar incidents.

Police investigate bomb threat at San Carlos College

Police are investigating a bomb threat sent to San Carlos College in Brgy. Mabini, San Carlos City, on the evening of November 16. Reports said a school employee alerted authorities at around 6:19 p.m. after receiving a Facebook message threatening to plant six bombs in various areas of the campus, including the kindergarten, high school, gymnasium, computer lab, and faculty building. The sender claimed the explosions would occur simultaneously, starting on November 17, allegedly in protest of the supposed unfair treatment of students.

Police quickly secured the campus and coordinated with the Pangasinan Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Canine Unit to sweep the school for possible explosives. School officials also implemented evacuation procedures, while law enforcement officers inspected key areas for any suspicious items as the investigation continued.

Man assaults elderly woman in Villasis

A 60-year-old woman was injured after a 23-year-old man punched her during a heated confrontation in Villasis. Police said the incident stemmed from the victim’s discussion with her sibling about the suspect’s alleged abuse of his live-in partner. The suspect reportedly arrived and confronted the victim, triggering an argument.

Investigators said the man became enraged and struck the woman in the face after she questioned him about the allegations. The victim sustained facial injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital. The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack and is now detained at the Villasis Police Station as charges are being prepared.

Construction worker found dead in home

A 53-year-old construction worker was found dead inside his home in Sitio Boquig, Brgy. Lumbang, Calasiao, on Monday afternoon. Police said a relative discovered the victim around 1:00 p.m., hanging from a mosquito net tied to a metal bar in his room. An attending medical officer declared the victim dead at the scene and noted ligature marks on his neck, consistent with the cause of death.

Investigators said no signs of foul play were found, but the body was brought to a funeral home for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing inquiry. Police are determining the circumstances leading to the incident as they continue interviewing family members and other individuals who may shed light on the case.

Tricycle driver injured in fight over passenger in Balungao

A 63-year-old tricycle driver was injured after he was attacked by a fellow driver during a heated argument over a passenger at the public market area in Brgy. Poblacion, Balungao. Police said the confrontation quickly escalated when the suspect hurled rocks at the victim, hitting him in different parts of the body.

The victim was rushed to the Rural Health Unit in Brgy. Poblacion for treatment of multiple injuries. Authorities said the suspect is facing charges for serious physical injuries as the investigation continues. Police are also looking into other possible factors that may have triggered the dispute.

Fire razes house in Bonuan Gueset

A house on Paras Street in Brgy. Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, was gutted by fire on Wednesday night, November 19. The blaze broke out at around 7:38 PM and quickly spread through the 16-square-meter structure made of light materials. Firefighters led by Fire Chief Inspector Jun Eland Wanawan arrived within minutes and worked to keep the flames from spreading to nearby homes.

The fire was declared under control by 7:46 PM and fully extinguished four minutes later. The house, owned by Conny Paras, was destroyed. No injuries were reported. Fire Arson Investigator SFO1 Ricky B. Geronimo is conducting a probe to determine the cause of the blaze and assess the total damage.
