Cemeteries flooded during Undas
SEVERAL cemeteries in Pangasinan were flooded on November 1 after a sudden thunderstorm struck during the Undas observance. Thick dark clouds appeared before heavy rains poured for more than an hour, submerging parts of the Roman Catholic cemetery in Calasiao and dispersing over 10,000 visitors. Cemeteries in Dagupan, San Carlos, and Mangaldan also experienced flooding, leaving pathways muddy and slippery. Bazaar organizer to sue online detractor
THE organizer of the Binalonan Christmas Bazaar vowed to file charges against a local businesswoman for allegedly spreading malicious and damaging information on social media, which he said violated the Data Privacy Act of 2012. The businesswoman reportedly discredited the organizer online after her contract to operate a stall at the bazaar was revoked for allegedly bad-mouthing members of a municipal task force enforcing regulations. Clogged PPH toilet slammed online
A clogged toilet at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital drew complaints from several individuals, including patients, who aired their grievances on social media. Netizens urged the hospital to fulfill its responsibility as a health institution by ensuring that its comfort rooms are clean and functional. In response, PPH officials immediately directed their cleaning staff to fix the problem and requested the Provincial Engineering Office to assess the possibility of replacing old and corroded pipes in all hospital restrooms. 30,000 visit Mangaldan cemetery
AROUND 30,000 people visited the public cemetery in Mangaldan on November 1, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Due to the large crowd, a five-year-old child from Urdaneta City was reported missing but was later reunited with his anxious parents after several hours. The MDRRMO, Mangaldan Police, and the Municipal Health Office worked together to maintain order and ensure the safety of visitors inside and around the cemetery. (Denisse Brillante)

Returning passengers swamp bus stations
BUS terminals across Pangasinan were swamped on Monday (November 3) with passengers rushing back to their destinations after the long Undas holiday. The IFM News Team spotted several commuters at a bus terminal in Alaminos City hoping to secure seats on incoming buses. Due to the large number of passengers lining up at various terminals, authorities distributed numbered stubs to ensure an orderly boarding process and to guarantee passengers their slots on available buses. MENTAL health medicines are now available for free at the Rural Health Unit 1 (RHU 1) in Calasiao as part of the local government’s effort to improve health services.

THE observance of Undas in Pangasinan was generally peaceful and orderly, according to the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office. Data gathered by IFM News Dagupan showed zero crimes against persons and property during the period. However, several minor vehicular accidents were recorded on major roads over the long weekend.
