Alaminos bamboo industry gets boost with new SSF
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 1 formally awarded a Shared Service Facility (SSF) for the Engineered Bamboo Development Project to the Alaminos City government on October 9, 2025 at the Hundred Islands E-Kawayan Factory in Barangay Tangcarang.
The SSF project highlights DTI’s continuing effort to promote innovation and support local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through advanced technology and sustainable industry development.
The facility aims to enhance the city’s bamboo production capability by providing shared access to modern equipment and technical assistance.
As part of the turnover, DTI OIC-Assistant Regional Director and Pangasinan Provincial Director Natalia Dalaten handed over a brand-new laser cutting and engraving machine to the city government.
Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste thanked DTI for its unwavering support of Alaminos City’s bamboo industry and the local business sector.
Also present during the turnover ceremony were Chief Trade-Industry Development Specialist Vida Karna Bacani, representing Acting Regional Director Merlie Membrere; Chief Trade-Industry Specialist Atty.
