Mangaldan Slaughterhouse earns NMIS recognition
THE National Meat Inspection Service-Regional Technical Operation Center I (NMIS-RTOC) has recognized the Mangaldan Municipal Slaughterhouse for its outstanding compliance with national meat safety and sanitation standards.
During the NMIS’ 53rd Founding Anniversary and the 32nd Safety Consciousness Week, held at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Center, the Mangaldan abattoir was honored for its consistent adherence to protocols that ensure safe and humane meat processing.
Slaughterhouse Master IV Aris G. Morales accepted the certificate of recognition on behalf of Mangaldan Mayor Bona Fe de Vera-Parayno.
The Mangaldan slaughterhouse was cited for its strict compliance with meat inspection protocols, high standards of sanitation and hygiene, adherence to the Animal Welfare Act through humane slaughter practices, and an organized and systematic meat quality control process before distribution.
According to NMIS, the Mangaldan facility stood out as a model of best practices in the region, serving as a benchmark for other local government-run slaughterhouses. (Ahikam Pasion)
