SP passes supplemental, AIP budgets
THE Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution last week approving a supplemental budget for the Annual Investment Program (AIP) worth P102 million and an ordinance approving a Supplemental Budget of P69 million to fund 11 various projects.
Both measures were passed by the SP on motion of Councilor Jeslito Seen, chairman of the committee on finance, budget and appropriations, following resolutions passed last week during a meeting of the Local Development Council (LDC) with Mayor Belen Fernandez as chair.
The mayor then issued Certificates of Urgency on the additional funds, which will be used for new flood mitigation projects, four site development projects, and the procurement of one heavy-duty mobile water pump to drain out flood waters in certain areas.
Lone opposition Councilor Librada Reyna initially asked questions about the purpose of purchasing a water pump worth P6.5 million. Eventually, she joined the 11 majority councilors in voting for approval after Seen explained that the equipment is urgently necessary.
