Miss Villasis 2026: Beauty with a heart
By Eva C. Visperas
EVERY year, Villasis celebrates more than beauty — it celebrates promise. The Miss Villasis pageant unites the town’s most confident and purpose-driven young women. This year, 14 candidates proudly carry not only their barangays’ names but also the heart and hopes of the Villasinian community.
These stunning and empowered young women were carefully chosen from 21 barangays after a thorough screening process. They come from Barangobong, Capulaan, Amamperez, Barraca, Bacag, Piaz, Tombod, Unzad, Lipay, Poblacion Zone III, Puelay, Bacag, Labit, and Poblacion Zone I—each bringing with them their unique charm, story, and spirit of service.
Mayor Dita Abrenica, together with her ever-supportive husband, former Mayor Nato Abrenica, was there from the start — cheering on the candidates, ensuring their comfort, and treating each of them like their own daughters. It’s a small but meaningful reflection of how leadership in Villasis is often rooted in genuine care and connection. The couple’s presence gave warmth to the event, showing that beauty pageants in this town are not just shows of glamour but celebrations of growth and unity.
During the Meet the Press segment for the selection of the Darling of the Press on October 6, the candidates were asked spontaneous questions that touched on personal, social, and even political issues. No scripts, no coaching — just honesty, wit, and conviction. Each answer revealed not just intellect, but also the heart of a true Villasinian woman: grounded, aware, and brave. It was refreshing to see young women who could speak their minds with such poise and sincerity.
Having been invited in the past to sit as a judge for Miss Villasis, I can say this year’s group is truly remarkable. They embody confidence without arrogance, grace without pretense. Their poise, height, intelligence, and presence reflect a new generation of Villasinian women who carry with them not only their beauty but also their stories—of families that raised them well, of barangays that believe in them, and of a town that continues to nurture them.
Miss Villasis has never been just about crowns and sashes. It is a platform where the youth of the town are molded into ambassadors of goodwill — women who speak with empathy, act with purpose, and inspire others with their courage. It is about showing the world that Villasis is not only a town of progress but also a home of values, discipline, and dreams.
The local government, led by Mayor Dita Abrenica, deserves high praise for continuously supporting endeavors that uplift the youth and highlight women’s empowerment. Organizing an event like this takes patience, teamwork, and heart. Behind every confident smile on stage are organizers, mentors, and volunteers who poured their time and love into shaping a meaningful experience for these young ladies. This is the kind of community effort that reminds us what makes Villasis special — it moves as one, with pride and purpose.
In this age of quick fame and fleeting attention, Miss Villasis 2026 stands as a quiet reminder that real beauty is lasting when it’s grounded in substance. These candidates remind us that a beautiful woman is not only one who turns heads but one who touches hearts.
Villasis has long embraced pageantry as a source of pride — a reflection of how much its people value grace, intelligence, and perseverance. And who knows? Perhaps this will be the lucky year when the town shines even brighter in the world of pageantry. But even if that moment is yet to come, Villasis has already won — because it has raised daughters who carry its name with dignity and pride.
As the event draws near, may we remember that every young woman who steps on that stage represents more than herself — she carries the hopes of her family, her barangay, and her beloved town.
Because at its heart, Miss Villasis is not a contest. It is a celebration of the Villasinian spirit —strong, kind, and endlessly radiant.
As the poet Khalil Gibran once said, “Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
And in Villasis, that light shines brighter than ever.
