Flooding in Bugallon Beijing blamed on Solar Power project
SECOND District Rep. Mark Cojuangco has called on the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) over what he called extraordinary flood that occurred along the Romulo Highway in Barangays Cayanga and Bolaoen in Bugallon.
Residents of these two barangays pointed to the ongoing development of solar power farms covering hundreds of hectares of mountain lands in Bugallon as the reason for these floods. Cojuangco said the DENR did not foresee the flooding that could come when it issued the Environmental Compliance Certificate to the company building the solar power farm. (Jam Victorio)

Ruins of Sual watchtower now a national treasure
THE Sual Watchtower Ruins in Bugallon have been declared by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as a National Cultural Treasure.
The ruins, standing 10 feet high and 10 feet wide, are among those built during the Spanish colonization, like the watchtowers in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte and Luna, La Union. Following its declaration as a national treasure, the NCCA is set to conduct an inspection of the area to determine the condition of its remaining structure, ensuring the safety of tourists and visitors. Mayor Belen acts on overflowing septic tank at day care center
THE Dagupan City government vowed to act on the problem of an overflowing septic tank of a daycare center at Bangusville in Barangay Bonuan Gueset.
Mayor Belen Fernandez ordered the City Engineering Office to fix the problem to protect the health of pupils and their teacher, as she criticized the project, built by the past city administration, saying it should not have been built in the first place inside a daycare center. (Joana de Vera)

Swarms of flies from passing trucks of poultry farm hit
RESIDENTS of Sitio Darlong, Barangay Gueteb in Urbiztondo are complaining over the swarms of flies in their area every time trucks of a big poultry farm in adjacent San Carlos City pass through their area.
Barangay officials said they already brought up the matter with their counterpart officials in San Carlos City but the problem persists. They found out that the trucks are forced to pass through Sitio Darlong as they cannot take their usual route because of several dangling telephone and possibly electric wires that need to be sorted. Tambac SK distributes school supplies to pupils
THE Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Tambac headed by Chairperson Jaira Dueñas distributed school supplies to pupils of the Tambac Elementary School in Dagupan City.
The SK set aside ₱80,000 from its own fund to buy 300 sets of school supplies, 250 sets of which were already distributed to the pupils. (Nil Moyano)

Mangatarem mayor orders proper waste management at public market
THE municipal government of Mangatarem called for responsible management of wastes at the town’s public market after the mayor noted rubbish in some areas during a recent inspection.
Municipal government workers have cleaned the mess, which was believed caused by both the vendors and buyers. The new municipal administration of Mangatarem has identified the town’s market as a priority in its clean-up drive. (Jam Victorio)

Mayor Belen warns against online impostors
Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez has warned the public against impostors allegedly using her name on a fake account in social media to mislead the people and victimize them.
In a Facebook post on her own account, she said the impostors use a supposed free mobile phone credit program to get personal information and later extort money. (Joana de Vera)
