Binalonan long-distance runner rules Laguna Loop tilt
THIRTY-NINE years old Romeo Quinsay from Binalonan brought pride to the province after winning the 4th Laguna Loop 213-kilometer Endurance Run last September 14, 2025 that kicked off and ended at Kilometer Zero along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
Competing against the 20 elite runners in the country, Quinsay maintained a steady pace in the long track and clocked in 38 hours and 10 minutes to seize the champion’s trophy.
“Being a finisher is an achievement, but being a champion is a bonus. From start to finish, I just stuck to the game plan and showed the heart of a champion,” he said, noting that his preparation for the event took two months of practicing and focusing on efficient running forms, building endurance, and strength training.
Quinsay narrated that his journey in the realm of long-distance running began in 2014, covering just three kilometers until the distance progressed.
At the same time, he continues to advocate for the sport as a healthy lifestyle and underscores the importance of consistency, discipline, and focus as an athlete. (Kim Gealogo)
