BM Apaga advocates for single mothers, youth, PWDs
PROVINCIAL Board Member Rose Carolino Apaga, who is on her first foray in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, said while she is new in politics and public service, her experience as a businesswoman has given her an understanding of the needs of the people, especially the poor.
The Urdaneta City-born neophyte lawmaker was given full trust by her colleagues to sit as chair of the committee on entrepreneurship.
Apaga said she will focus on helping single mothers, youth, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and senior citizens, citing the motto that in public service, “no one would be left behind”.
“We should equip them with new skills so that they can fend for themselves and earn a living,” she said.
She also vowed to coordinate closely with fellow Fifth District Board Member Louie Sison, chair of the committee on agriculture, to push for significant resolutions that can help farmers.
Apaga is also pursuing continued learning in line with her new job. She attended an Executive Course at the Ateneo de Manila along with fellow members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and other public servants. (Leonardo Micua)
