In addition, nearly 5,000 individuals underwent screening and evaluation for both local and international employment prospects.

The event was spearheaded by Third District Rep. Rachel Arenas as part of the birthday celebration of her mother, former Deputy Speaker Rose Marie “Baby” Arenas.

Rep. Arenas also announced the opening of the first-ever Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Desk in Pangasinan, located in Barangay Cabatling, Malasiqui.

“The DMW Desk is designed to assist our migrant workers in addressing their concerns and needs,” she said.

Arenas was among the lawmakers who advocated for the establishment of the DMW, a dedicated government agency focused on the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and DMW Regional Office I joined the Alagang Arenas Job Fair 2025, providing services such as employment processing, reintegration programs, and legal assistance.

DMW Regional Director Christian Rey Sison, in a message delivered during the event, noted that employers nowadays are looking not just for experience, but for applicants who are “Dedicated, Motivated, and Well-mannered (DMW).”

During the job fair, five beneficiaries also received financial support worth ₱300,000.00 under the AKSYON Fund Program. (Eva Visperas)
