Senior vendor found dead at market stall
A 74-year-old man was found lifeless inside his market stall in Malasiqui on Monday, July 14, prompting shock among fellow vendors and concern from the local community.
The deceased, identified as Romulo Ferrer, a longtime meat vendor who was known to live right at his stall, was discovered by his family after he failed to open his shop that morning, something his neighboring vendors found unusual.
In an interview, PLtCol Garry Anthony Casem confirmed there were no signs of foul play, but authorities will still perform a necropsy examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Cyclist killed in collision with SUV
A 41-year-old man was killed when he was struck by an SUV while riding his mountain bike along a national road in the town of Sta. Maria.
According to reports, Roger Madiam Macanas, 44, was driving an SUV in Barangay Paitan when the cyclist, identified as Jinito Recanillo Limpag, suddenly veered into the vehicle’s lane, causing the collision.
Limpag suffered severe injuries from the impact and was immediately rushed to a hospital in the nearby town of Tayug. However, he was declared dead on arrival.

Urdaneta City restaurant robbed
A restaurant and its workers became the latest victims of theft in Urdaneta City after a suspect broke into the establishment and made off with cash, electronics, and other valuables.
Marivic Santos Tiglao, 34, the business owner, reported the burglary to the police early in the morning. According to the complainant, the incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. when an unidentified suspect scaled the fence, which was out of view from the restaurant’s CCTV cameras. The thief entered through an unlocked gate and proceeded straight to the kitchen.
Once inside, the suspect targeted various rooms and stole personal items from several workers as well as four bottles of alcohol valued at P10,000 pesos from the restaurant. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Man nabbed for stealing in OPAG premises
A 41-year-old man was arrested for theft after he was caught in the act stealing goods from a government warehouse in Sta. Barbara.
The incident unfolded when security guard Jessie Tordel Caguiao, 26, was on patrol near the Provincial Agriculture Office (OPAG) warehouse in Tebag and noticed that the roll-up door of the warehouse was slightly raised.
Upon inspection, Caguiao caught Junash Flores Valdez, 41, in the act of loading boxes of canned goods onto a parked tricycle next to the warehouse. The security guard immediately detained the suspect and alerted his colleagues to call the police.

Man killed by younger brother in drunken brawl
A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his younger brother in Barangay Bonuan-Boquig, Dagupan City, police reports confirmed.
According to authorities, the incident occurred after a night of drinking between the victim, Jesus Rivo Magsano, and his 47-year-old brother, Roberto Magsano. The siblings had been drinking together at their residence along Sta. Maria Street, when a dispute erupted, was linked to longstanding tensions.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival, while the suspect is now in custody and facing charges related to homicide.

1 dead, 3 injured in TPLEX mishap
A deadly collision involving a wing van, closed van, trailer truck, and a hatchback occurred along the northbound lane of TPLEX in Barangay Camanang, Urdaneta City, leaving one dead and several others injured.
According to authorities, the incident occurred when a trailer truck crashed into a closed van, which was parked along the shoulder of the road. The wing van and hatchback were also parked, facing north. The impact of the collision caused the closed van to veer off the road and into a nearby field. The trailer truck then hit the parked hatchback, pushing it forward, which caused it to collide with the wing van.
The passengers in the two rear vehicles suffered injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, but one of the victims was declared dead on arrival. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
