GOVERNOR Ramon Guico III vowed to continue and build on what he started in his first term when he took his oath of office for his second term on June 30 at the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen before Judge Avelina J. Villegas-Rosario of RTC Branch 14-FC.

Guico said he laid the foundation for development by targeting vital projects as initial works of his administration that included the establishment of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College (PPC) and a roadmap to modernize all 14 government hospitals with the inclusion of two new health facilities.

At the inauguration event, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) handed to the PPC its certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for its four curriculum courses.

The governor said the award underscores the provincial government’s goal to provide a brighter future for underprivileged young Pangasinanses by providing access to free and quality tertiary education.

Two new PPC campuses will be built in the towns of Umingan and Bugallon during Guico’s second term.

For the health sector, his administration is eyeing the establishment of specialty hospitals like a heart center, kidney center and cancer institute.

Meanwhile, more community-based projects and programs that include the installation of solar street lights in remote areas and the construction of farm-to-market roads are essential in supporting farmers and entrepreneurs, among others. (PIMRO/RFR)
