DAGUPAN KICKS OFF ‘MANLINGKOR YA KALANGWERAN 2025′

DAGUPAN CITY’S civic training leadership program, Manlingkor Ya Kalangweran (MYK), officially started this year’s training season at the DepEd Dagupan City Division Training Center on June 23. A project of the Department of Education and the City Government, the annual capacity-building program gathered a total of 64 top-performing Grade 9 student leaders from different private and public schools in the city to train them for future public service roles.

Mayor Belen Fernandez, known for her strong advocacy for education and youth-centered leadership, graced the event, delivering a message of inspiration to the new batch of student leaders in the program. All participating student leaders in the 3-day training program will serve as young counterparts of the city’s elected officials and department heads from June 30 to July 4.

BHW SUMMIT EMPOWERS COMMUNITY FRONTLINERS

 IN RECOGNITION of the city’s “health heroes,” the City Health Office held the 2025 Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Summit and Awarding Ceremony on June 23 led by Mayor Belen Fernandez.

Anchored on the theme, “Recognizing Outstanding Community Frontliners”, the event aimed to highlight the exemplary performance of the city’s BHWs in areas such as service delivery, community engagement, health education, disease prevention, maternal and child health, and implementation of national and local health programs.

5,575 INDIGENT SENIOR CITIZENS CONTINUE TO RECEIVE SOCIAL PENSION

INDIGENT DAGUPEÑO senior citizens continue to receive their social pension (SOCPEN) from the national government led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

A total of 5,575 qualified senior citizens here in the city received their 2nd Quarter SOCPEN worth P3,000 each from June 17 to June 20.
