FOLLOWERS of the religious group Jehovah’s Witnesses are holding their annual global convention series in Dagupan City, which started June 13 and will run for eight weekends.

“We look forward to once again welcoming the public and presenting this exciting program to all attendees,” said Wilson Utayde, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses

Part of the convention, with “Pure Worship!” as this year’s theme, is a three-day program open to local communities, to be held at the CSI Stadia.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are one of the largest non-profit convention organizations in the world, and their annual gathering is seen to fuel the local economy as they draw more than 20,000 attendees to Dagupan.

One of the highlights of the Dagupan City series is the Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Convention scheduled on July 18 to 20.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of JW’s first postwar assembly at the Sison Auditorium in Lingayen town, which was formed by the American Armed Forces who were leasing the auditorium during that time. (Ahikam Pasion)
