LAW enforcers arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized 30 grams of shabu with a P204,000 street value in a buy-bust operation on June 8 in Barangay Barraca, Villasis.

Joint operatives from the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency carried out the operation, which led to the arrest of Marieta Vergara, 44, a native of Baguio City who is currently renting an apartment in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City.

Confiscated during the operation were suspected shabu contained in six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, along with other non-drug evidence.

PBGen Lou Evangelista, police regional director, commended the operating units for their swift and effective action.

“This successful operation sends a clear message that we will not tolerate the presence of illegal drugs in our communities. We will remain aggressive and relentless in our efforts to ensure a drug-free and safer Region 1,” he said. (Eva Visperas)
