REHABILITATION OF THE KOREA-PHILIPPINES DAGUPAN SEAFOOD PROCESSING COMPLEX

THE Dagupan City government recently visited the Seafood Processing Complex and met with the BFAR-NIFTDC Dagupan and DENR-EMB Region I representatives for the accreditation of the facility under the co-management of the city and BFAR.

Mayor Belen Fernandez said the application for accreditation in line with the city’s plans to further boost support for the Dagupan bangus industry by conforming with the export quality standards for our Dagupan bangus products.

Professional Regulation Commission – Professional Regulatory Board for Fisheries (PRBF) Chairperson Dr. Westly Rosario shared his recommendations for the city, having served BFAR-NIFTDC Dagupan as the former center chief from 1989-2022.

CITY WRAPS UP 2025 SUMMER SPORTS CAMP

UNDERE the initiative of Mayor Belen Fernandez and the Dagupan City Sports Commission, the 2025 Summer Sports Camp was concluded with an awarding ceremony last Saturday, May 17.

Held at several places in the city, Sports Development Officer IV Finnela Sim, together with Dagupan City Sports Commissioner Nestor Duque, led the awarding of certificates of participation and recognition to all players who finished and graduated, while stressing the importance of such free clinics in empowering them to become better athletes.

The free summer sports clinic, which ran from May 5-16, hosted almost 300 young athletes ranging from ages 7-16 years old participating in different sports events such as Arnis, Athletics, Boxing, Chess, Football, Futsal, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Wrestling.

22 DAGUPEÑO ATHLETES HEAD OUT TO 2025 PALARONG PAMBANSA

DAGUPAN City Sports Commission Youth and Sports Office, headed by Sports Development Officer IV Finnela Sim, announced the departure of 22 Dagupeño student athletes to compete in the upcoming 2025 Palarong Pambansa during the Flag Raising Ceremony held at the City Plaza on Monday, May 19.

The 2025 Palarong Pambansa will take place in Ilocos Norte, with Marcos Stadium as the main venue. The annual multi-sport event is expecting 15,000 participants from 20 athletic associations from the 18 regions of the country and will formally commence on May 24 and conclude on May 30, 2025.
