PRO1 PRESS CORPS’ NEW OFFICERS TAKE OATH

P/BRIG. General Lou Evangelista, Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) director, called on the newly-elected officers of the PRO 1 Press Corps who took their oath of office on April 22 at Camp BGen Oscar M Florendo to embrace their responsibilities as leaders and partners in nation-building.

The newly elected PRO 1 Press Corps are: Hilda Austria, president; Mark Cabasan, vice-president; Elsha Arguel, secretary; Eva Visperas, treasurer; Susan Yadao, auditor; Liwayway Yparraguirre, public relations officer;  Raymond Nachor, business manager; and Violy Valdez Ferrer, Yolanda Sotelo, Ahikam Pasion as sergeants-at-arms.

Evangelista thanked the press for their steadfast support, particularly during the Holy Week, and said the oath they took goes beyond formality.

Sa bawat panunumpa, isinaalang-alang natin hindi lamang ang dangal ng inyong hanay, kundi pati na rin ang tiwala ng sambayanan,” he said. “This gathering is not merely an exchange of pleasantries — it is the strengthening of a vital alliance.”

“With every report, every story, and every statement, you help shape public perception, influence decisions, and ignite change. You are not merely narrators of events; you are catalysts for progress, guardians of democracy, and powerful voices of the people,” he said.

The event also served to reorganize the PNP Press Corps Federation of Region 1. (Eva Visperas)
