‘Taray ti Asingan’ fun run kicks off Kankakee Festival
THE first day of the Kankanen Festival in Asingan town reeled-off with the “Taray ti Asingan Color Fun Run” on April 19.
The fun run, started by the late President Fidel Ramos in 1982, highlights the people’s strong character and in commemoration of resistance against Spanish colonizers.
This year, some 600 runners participated in the event organized by Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. along with Vice Mayor Heidee Chua and the town’s police force under the leadership of P/Major Katelyn May Awingan. (Kim Gealogo)
