Teen rescued from near-drowning
A minor was rushed to the hospital after a near-drowning incident at a resort in Mapandan.
The child was initially swimming with cousins in a shallow, 3-foot pool, but the mother became alarmed when she noticed her son was missing. Upon searching, she discovered him floating unconscious in the deeper 4-foot pool. Other resort visitors assisted in reviving the child before he was taken to the hospital, where he is currently being monitored by doctors.

Skull, other skeletal remains found, suspected remains of Nueva Ecija bizman
AUTHORITIES found a human skull and other skeletal remains in an irrigation canal in the municipality of Natividad, believed to belong to Michael Lagrana and Julius Diaz who were kidnapped. Other parts of their remains were found earlier in February in an irrigation canal in San Quintin.
The Urdaneta City Forensic Unit led by PMaj AJ Eric Magtaan, quickly responded to the report of two construction workers and secured the crime scene. Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Philippine Coast Guard in San Manuel also collaborated in the search and retrieval operation, which resulted in the recovery of additional skeletal fragments. According to the Natividad police, the remains have been turned over to the victims’ relatives in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.

Tricycle river injured in stabbing incident
A tricycle driver was injured in a stabbing incident last week after a confrontation with a woman that led to an altercation with her brother.
According to police reports, the brother confronted the 31-year-old victim after he saw his sister being accosted by the tricycle driver. Both men drew knives that resulted in the victim suffering multiple injuries in his body while the suspect was unharmed. The victim was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

Cash, jewelry stolen in ex-OFW home in Villasis
AUTHORITIES are investigating a burglary that occurred in the home of a couple in Barangay San Nicolas, Villasis.
The victims, 60-year-old Dominador Gille Caneja and his 67-year-old wife, Ruvina Barroga Caneja, came home to find their front door damaged and approximately half a million pesos worth of jewelry and P300,000 in cash and important documents and bank books were also missing. So far no suspect has been identified.

Construction accident kills 3 in Tayug
A deadly accident at a construction site occurred on April 5 in Barangay Magallanes, Tayug, resulting in the death of three construction workers and injuring three others.
Construction workers were busy aligning fabricated cage bars intended for use as bridge posts when the fabricated structure toppled, and the heavy steel bars fell and trapped the workers beneath. The police said the contractor provided financial assistance to the bereaved families.

Bro hurts sibling over bad words
A 54-year-old construction worker sustained head injuries and wounds after a confrontation with his elder brother, 56, after a heated exchange in Villasis town.
The victim was walking along the road in Barangay Diaz when he passed by his brother’s house and shouted derogatory comments. This prompted an angry reaction from the suspect, who, in a fit of rage, picked up a stone and struck his brother on the head. Local authorities transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment while the elder brother was arrested and taken into custody.
