Dagupan to hold Summer Sports Camp

AFTER landing in 7th place in this year’s Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) meet, Dagupan City will kick-start its grassroots training program for young athletes in different sports with the holding of a two-week Summer Sports Camp from May 5 to 16.

Finella Sim, Dagupan City sports commissioner, said the camp will seek to discover new sports talents who can be trained to compete for Dagupan City in regional and sports competitions.

The trainors will be mostly former topnotch athletes and lectures and practicum in arnis, taekwondo, wrestling, table tennis, boxing, swimming, athletics, football, futsal and lawn tennis will be held.

Arnis, taekwondo and wrestling lectures and practicum will be held at the Dagupan People’s Astrodome; chess at the Dagupan City Library; table tennis and boxing at the third floor of the Malimgas Public Market; swimming at the Dagupan Poolside; athletics, football and futsal at Bonuan Boquig Elementary School; and lawn tennis at the Lyceum Northwestern University.
