
100 Islands holds street dancing, beauty competition
LOCAL talents of Alaminos City showcased their dance prowess at the Light Parade and Street Dancing Competition on March 21 as a feature of the Hundred Islands Festival.
The four competing groups showcased the rich history and folklore of Alaminos City, the Hundred Islands, and the town’s patron saint, San Jose.
Tribu Takip Silim of Western Horizon Skills Training and Assessment Center, Inc. was hailed as the winner of Best in Choreography and Best in Lights Effects competition and won the P350,000 grand prize.
Indak-Aliw San Jose of Colegio San Jose De Alaminos was honored as the second placer and took home a prize of P250,000.
In third was Tribu Paraw, which bagged P150,000, while The Great Plebeian College earned P75,000 as the fourth placer.
In another competition, four delegates from the city showed off their beauty for the Festival Queen, that was won by Gianne Mae Catindig from Alaminos City National High School.
Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste underscored that the city government’s mission is to continue promoting local talents to promote the rich culture and history of Alaminos to develop and promote the city’s tourism. (Kim Gealogo)
