SWIMMERS from the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation Special Science High School and Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School — who make up the San Carlos City Swimming Team — asserted their exceptional skills when they amassed four gold, one silver, and three bronze medals during the Region 1 Athletic Association that kicked-off on March 10, 2025 at the Dagupan City Pool Site.

Eighteen-year-old Carl Yshmael Blanco delivered San Carlos City’s first gold in the regional meet with his stellar performance in 50m Butterfly Secondary Boys Category, followed by another gold in 100m Freestyle Secondary Boys.

He bagged the lone silver in 50m Backstroke and a bronze podium finish in 100m Backstroke.

His younger sister, Charlize Blanco, wrested the gold in 50m Butterfly Secondary Girls Category and a bronze medal in 100m Freestyle.

Meanwhile, Keyile Cayabyab displayed his speed in 50m Breaststroke Secondary Boys to claim the bronze medal.

Blanco and Cayabyab teamed up with Gerry Kian Perez and King Razc Vinoya of Speaker Eugenio Perez Agricultural School to rule the 4×50 Medley Relay Secondary Boys Category and bagged the gold finish in the group event.
