THE Committee on Environmental Protection of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Aguilar convened on January 13 to discuss a proposal from the company Ixus Solar Energy Corp. (ISEC) for the development of the Aguilar Solar Project and an Integrated Battery Energy Storage Plant within the municipality.

The hearing was prompted by an endorsement letter to the SB signed by Mayor Kristal Ballesteros-Soriano expressing her support for the project, highlighting its potential to promote sustainable energy solutions in Aguilar.

The proposed solar energy and battery storage facility aims to harness renewable energy resources while addressing the growing demand for electricity in the region.

During the hearing, environmental considerations, project feasibility, and the potential benefits of the projects for the local community were extensively discussed.

The committee is set to further evaluate the project to ensure its environmental sustainability and alignment with the municipality’s development goals.

Public consultations and further studies are expected as part of the decision-making process.
