Suspected rumor-monger shot dead in Mangaldan
A 51-year-old woman died shortly after she was rushed to a local hospital with one gunshot wound in the back inflicted by a still unidentified suspect in Mangaldan town.
Police investigations revealed that the shooting may have stemmed from suspicion that the victim was allegedly involved in spreading rumors about her neighbor’s personal life.
The gossip reportedly reached some people, including her neighbor’s spouse, who is working abroad.
The victim’s children mourned the death of their mother and admitted she often chatted with neighbors but denied that she interfered in their personal affairs.
Authorities have launched a manhunt against the suspect, who managed to escape after the shooting who will face murder charges. (Yna Sabado/Intern)
