Man arrested in Mangaldan for forgery
A 42-year-old man from Mangaldan has been arrested for allegedly forging documents.
According to the Mangaldan police, the suspect identified as Alberto Soriano is facing charges of estafa linked to his forgery activities. He is currently in police custody and is expected to post bail amounting to P36,000.
In a similar case, 42-year-old farmer Christopher Aquino Tuliao from Umingan is facing estafa charges and an P18,000 bail has been imposed by the court.

Rider caught violating gun ban
A man being assisted by the police on January 13 after figuring in a motorcycle accident was later arrested as he was carrying firearms and ammunition, a violation of the election-related gun ban currently in place.
Initial investigation indicated that Michael Garcia Distor, a resident of Rosales, was under the influence of alcohol while driving the motorcycle with a minor passenger. Both were taken to hospital for treatment and Distor will be facing charges for the gun ban violation.

Domestic dispute turns to gun possession arrest
A man was arrested in Barangay Agdao, San Carlos City, after being caught holding a firearm while involved in a domestic altercation with his wife.
Initial police investigations reveal that responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a commotion linked to Elmer Costanilla Palomar. Upon arrival, authorities discovered him brandishing a gun while yelling at his wife, causing alarm among their neighbors.
It was later determined that Costanilla was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Motorcycle collision kills 1
A motorcycle collision in Basista resulted in the death of a 25-year-old rider who was earlier sent home after receiving emergency medical treatment.
According to a report from the Basista Police Station, Bernie Fontanilla Rosario, a resident of Barangay Poblacion in Basista, was initially rushed to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City after suffering injuries from the accident when his motorcycle collided head-on with another motorbike driven by Alejandro Rico De Vera, who had two passengers with him at the time.
After receiving initial care at the provincial hospital, Rosario was reportedly informed that he could go home; however, he was later readmitted to a private hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

2 nabbed after stealing church aircon
TWO men are behind bars after they were caught stealing an air conditioning unit from a church in Mangaldan town.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Mangaldan Police, the victim, 32-year-old John Will Laya, a pastor, was reading the Bible when he heard suspicious noises coming from their church. Upon investigating, he caught the two suspects attempting to commit theft.
Pastor Laya sought help from barangay officials, leading to the capture of the suspects, identified as 40-year-old Jaime De Guzman, a pedicab driver, and 31-year-old Alex De Guzman, a market vendor. Both men are residents of Barangay Tebag.

Police nab fake dentists
AUTHORITIES apprehended two individuals allegedly practicing dentistry without proper license during an entrapment operation at Plaza Market in Urdaneta City.
Joint personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPO), Urdaneta City Police Station (CPS), and Dr. Beah Perez Bautista, president of the Philippine Dental Association’s Pangasinan Chapter, executed the operation targeting John Philip Salazar Fortes, 37, and Jerome Salazar Fortes, 31, both residents of Sta. Barbara.
Charges of violating Republic Act 9484, pertaining to illegal practice in dentistry, are currently being prepared against the Fortes brothers.
