Seized illegal drugs reach P18M in 2024
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pangasinan reported P18 million worth of illegal drugs seized in the province last year, or five-fold of the P3.5 million recorded in 2023.
PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Chief Rechie Camacho attributed the dramatic increase in the value of seized illegal drugs in 2024 to the destruction of marijuana plantations in Mapita, Aguilar, where a total of 19 kilos of marijuana were burned last year.
He said they arrested 51 individuals involved in large-scale drug operations across the province last year.
PDEA Pangasinan continues to closely monitor the cities of Urdaneta, San Carlos, and Dagupan, which reportedly have a high concentration of drug dealers and users. (Ahikam Pasion)
