Man assaulted over loud music

A construction worker identified as 29-year-old Mark Tyrone Rivera Collado was severely beaten by neighbors in the town of Sual due to an altercation over his excessively loud music.

According to police investigations, the victim was playing loud music inside his home while under the influence of alcohol. His neighbor, 66-year-old Gloria Diaz Garcia admonished him for the noise, then an argument ensued, and the situation escalated when the victim reportedly slapped the elderly woman, causing her to fall down.

Meanwhile other neighbors Intervened: 63-year-old Jessie Abangtao Sobrepena, an employee of the local government unit, and 17-year-old Teresita Diaz Garcia and assaulted the victim, hitting him on the head with a bamboo stick, resulting in visible injuries.  Following the attack, the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, and the suspects have since been arrested.

Couple stabbed while chatting outside home

A couple in San Carlos City are currently hospitalized after being attacked and stabbed in front of their residence. The victims, Rogelio Dizon Austria, 57, and Rosalinda Tome Austria, 59, both residents of Barangay Tebag, sustained multiple wounds to various parts of their bodies.

According to police investigations, the couple was engaged in a conversation outside their home when the suspect, identified as Ruben Dizon Beltran, suddenly approached them and without warning, stabbed both individuals with a knife before fleeing the scene with the weapon.

Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the suspect’s brutal actions.

Man stabbed by son-in-law

A man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed by his son-in-law during a heated argument in Bolinao.

The victim was identified as 55-year-old Edgar Ochoturina Puda, while the suspect is 35-year-old Ryan Evangelista Piedad, a furniture maker. Both are residents of Barangay Tupa in Bolinao.

According to police investigations, the suspect, who was under the influence of alcohol, arrived at the victim’s house looking for his brother-in-law, Johnrex Camba. The visit was related to a previous misunderstanding they had during the New Year celebrations.

Road accident kills two

TWO men died in a tragic road accident while traveling in a tricycle in the town of Sto. Tomas.

The tricycle was navigating the provincial road in Barangay Salvacion, driven by 34-year-old Miguel Fabia Serrana, with his passenger, 34-year-old Razel D. Serrana, both residents of Barangay Pob West in Alcala when they were struck from behind by a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Jenny Valdez Velasco, a resident of Zone 1, Brgy. Amamperez, Villasis.

The impact caused Serrana to lose control of the tricycle, which then collided head-on with an oncoming minivan driven by 42-year-old Darnel Ventura Penilla, a resident of Brgy. Sto. Niño, Sto. Tomas, who had four passengers on board. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Man’s body found in mountains of Infanta

THE police reported the discovery of a man’s body in the mountainous area of Barangay Batang, Infanta, who identified as Daniel Movilla Boniel Jr., a 53-year-old resident of Sitio Nambalan, Barangay Cato, Infanta.

Anthony Beltran, a 29-year-old farmer, stumbled upon the lifeless body lying in a dense area of Purok 3, Sitio Four-way, Barangay Batang. It was reported that Boniel last left his home on January 2, 2025, to go chicken-hunting.

The wife of the deceased, Delia Boniel, 69, said her husband had been complaining of a headache and had been vomiting before he left the house. A doctor from the Rural Health Unit examined the remains and found no evidence of foul play. It was concluded that the cause of death was a heart attack.

Construction worker, minor cyclist injured in separate road accidents

IN a series of incidents along the provincial roads of Lingayen, a 54-year-old construction worker was injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Barangay Quibaol, where the victim, identified as Ricardo Ferreras Santos, was knocked down by a tricycle driven by an unidentified individual.

Local authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify the driver responsible for the collision.

In a separate incident, a minor cyclist was injured when he was hit by a Ford Ecosport driven by 27-year-old Marlo Banayat Salesale, a resident of Sitio Haly, Gusing Norte in Naguilian, La Union. Following the collision, the Ecosport also crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by 57-year-old Wilfredo Camarao Cabreros from Barangay Botique, Laoac, Pangasinan. The minor cyclist was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention, while both drivers involved in the accidents were reported to be unharmed.

Bodies found in Alaminos, Dagupan City

AUTHORITIES discovered a floating body near a beach in Alaminos City, on Tuesday afternoon.

Armando Mesias Cabada, a 54-year-old fisherman from Barangay Telbang in Alaminos City, was fishing when he spotted the man’s body, which was covered with only black shorts and had no upper clothing. The remains appeared to be in an advanced state of decomposition.

The Alaminos Coast Guard, assisted in retrieving the body, along with responders from the Alaminos City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

In Dagupan City, a person reported missing after he had gone swimming was found dead. The body of the missing individual, identified as Christopher Vidal Landingin, age 54, a resident of Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City was identified by his brother.  Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Search on for drowning victim in Dagupan

 SEARCH efforts are underway for a man believed to have drowned on New Year’s Day.

Christian Clores Ubando, a 36-year-old resident of Sitio Sabangan, Brgy. Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, was at Pugaro Beach with five others, including a child. His companions reported that he was missing and believed to have drowned.

Farmer drowns in Balingcaguing River

A 54-year-old farmer, Sammy Celino Padilla from Barangay Tagudin, drowned in the Balingcaguing River in Mabini town while on a swimming outing with family and friends.

Padilla, who was already intoxicated, went to the river to swim. A relative who was resting in the shallow part of the river later noticed him lying motionless and suspected he had drowned.

Emergency responders rushed Padilla to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
