7 fishermen rescued off Agno town
THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported the rescue of seven fishermen from a partially submerged fishing vessel approximately 90 nautical miles west of Agno town on December 24.
According to initial reports, the crew of another fishing boat, Carme Badeth 1, was able to locate and rescue the stranded fishermen
They were transferred on December 27 to another vessel Dexter Zam, which transported them to Barangay Cato in Infanta, Pangasinan, where they were handed over to the local PCG sub-station.
Meanwhile, the fishermen’s sunken vessel, Faith Natanniel, was towed to shore by another fishing boat, Prince Nathan 1, arriving at Barangay Cato.
After undergoing a health assessment, the PCG-Infanta along with local officials determined that the fishermen were fit to return home to their families.
In another incident, the PCG said two fishermen were rescued also in waters off Agno on December 30 after their vessel MBCA WS was hit by big waves.
The two fishermen were identified as Randy Arbollyenty, 30, and Mark Kimber, 37, both residents of Barangay Boboy in Agno.
They were rescued at 7 a.m. by MV Wadi Almalikat, a bulk carrier registered under Egypt. The fishermen were turned over to the PCG, where fishermen undergone medical check-ups. (Ahikam Pasion)
