THE Umingan National High School Boys Volleyball Team again asserted its supremacy when it clinched the championship tiara after sweeping Nueva Ecija’s San Jose City National High School in two-straight sets:  25-20, 25-19, during the Umingan Volleyball Club U17 Invitational Tournament held December 22-23, 2024 at the Umingan Sports Complex.

The two-day tournament was joined by 20 volleyball clubs from Regions I, II, III, and CAR.

Raine Mariano propelled Umingan’s offense with his 14 excellent sets and finished with 10 points alongside Angelo Fernandez’s 8 points and two kill blocks to seal the victory.

On the flipside, Ken Reyes towed San Jose City NHS’s scoring with his 12 attack points and two service aces.

Among the individual awardees of the tourney are Raine Mariano (MVP and Best Setter), Angelo Fernandez (Best Opposite Hitter), Chester Mina (Best Libero), Rhailey Sampang (Best Middle), ad Aaron Oliveros (2nd Best Middle Blocker).

“Hopefully, we can continue this run as we participate in the PNVF North Luzon Qualifiers by the end of the month. This achievement serves as a tune up for them to prepare and focus on the things that we need to polish as a team,” said Umingan NHS head coach Eusebio. (Kim Gealogo)
