1 killed, another wounded in gun attack in San Quintin
A man was killed while another was wounded in a shooting incident at a wake in Barangay Lagasit in San Quintin town at around 1:05 a.m. on December 14.
The police identified, the victims as Dionel Galvan, 43, a tricycle driver, and Junel Guanizo, 44, a construction worker, both residents of the area.
Initial police investigation showed that while the victims were at a wake when a still unidentified suspect shot Galvan several times. Guanizo, who was beside him playing mahjong, was wounded.
After the shooting, the gunman fled east towards Tayug town.
Galvan, who was hit in the head, died on the spot, while Guanizo was rushed by the responding team to the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital for medical treatment.
The police are conducting a follow-up investigation and operation to identify and arrest the suspects and to determine the motive behind the incident. (Eva Visperas)
