8 charged with stealing drums of patis
EIGHT individuals are facing charges of qualified theft and violations of the Anti-Fencing Law after bringing several drums of fish sauce, locally called patis, to a location in Lingayen that was not the intended delivery site.
The complaint was filed by Amelito Aquino Sison, a 54-year-old businessman and resident of Barangay Naguilayan, Binmaley, who reported the suspects, including Noel Santos De Guzman, 47, a driver/laborer; Benedick Alejo De Vera, 33; and Joshua Discipulo De Guzman, 26, who all reside locally, for their involvement in the theft.
Charges were also filed against Nelson Sison Abrera, 52, a businessman known as “Pat’s”; Harold Castillo Viray, 28, from Pangapisan North, Lingayen; Mercenario Ventayen Malicdem, 41; and Nelson Rosario Caoile, 38, from Maniboc, Lingayen, under the anti-fencing law.
Sison, who received a tip about the illegal activities of his employees and Abrera, caught the suspects delivering and offloading container drums of fish sauce valued at approximately P80,000 to a fermenting area owned by Abrera.

Gun attack on family kills 1, injures 2 in Urdaneta City
A 39-year-old businessman was killed, while his wife and two-year-old child sustained injuries during a shooting incident while they were on board their vehicle in Urdaneta City last week.
The victims were traveling along Don Macaraeg Street in Barangay Pinmaludpod when an unidentified assailant, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on them.
The deceased was identified as Ryan Agran Garcia, Injured were his wife, 34-year-old Mary Anne Manluctao Garcia, and their child were also onboard the car. A friend, Gerald Barnibo Aquino, a 32-year-old businessman and local resident, was caught in the crossfire.
Initial police investigations revealed that the victims were heading northbound when the gunman attacked. They were rushed to the hospital following the incident, but Ryan was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities are currently working to determine the motive behind the shooting, which has raised concerns in the local community.

Motorcycle collides with truck, driver dies
A personnel of a local rice mill lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an oncoming dump truck in Mangatarem.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Jerico Banda De Guzman was driving his dump truck along Romulo Highway in Barangay Bueno when a motorcycle, ridden by 28-year-old Gibby Caguioa Sison, unexpectedly veered into his lane. Sison was a resident of Barangay Cabaruan in Mangatarem.
Despite De Guzman’s efforts to swerve out of the way to avoid the collision, Sison’s motorcycle still crash into the truck and slid underneath it.
Emergency responders reported that Sison sustained severe head injuries and other trauma. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival.
In a separate incident, another man died in a motorcycle accident along the TPLEX bypass road in Barangay Cabalaoangan Sur, Rosales. The victim has yet to be identified as he was found without any identification card. Initial reports indicate that he lost control of his motorcycle, resulting in severe injuries that led to his death.

Woman falls in tricycle, dies
A woman died in San Nicolas after falling from a tricycle and sustained head injuries after hitting the concrete road.
The incident occurred while the tricycle, driven by a 42-year-old man, was traveling along a barangay road, carrying four passengers—three senior citizens and an 18-year-old.
The victim suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital; however, she was declared dead on arrival by the authorities. Fortunately, the other passengers were reported to be safe.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the cause of the fall.

Rider dies after crashing into acacia tree
A 38-year-old man from Botolan, Zambales lost his life in a motorcycle accident in the municipality of Agno.
The victim was en route to the town proper when he crashed into an acacia tree. He sustained serious injuries to various parts of his body and was rushed to the nearest hospital; however, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Fisherman drowns in Bolinao
A fisherman identified as Jomar Conte Balmores, a resident of Barangay Binabalian, drowned in the waters off Bolinao.
He had gone out to sea with fellow fisherman Mark Gino Balmores Finez, 28. According to reports, Jomar jumped into the water, but moments later, Mark noticed that he had drowned and was floating lifelessly.
Mark attempted to revive his friend and quickly rushed him to a clinic in Barangay Salud, Bolinao. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival.
Preliminary information indicated that Jomar had a history of high blood pressure and asthma.
