THE Regional 1 Medical Center (R1MC) officially raised its alert level to a “white code status” in anticipation of an expected increase in fireworks-related injuries during the Yuletide celebrations.

Dr. Dindo Manzano, a medical specialist II at R1MC, said this means that emergency room doctors and nurses as well as all necessary equipment and other resources, both at the R1MC Arellano and Binloc facilities, are ready to treat injuries that may arise from lighted fireworks.

Additionally, the hospital is operating a 24-hour emergency hotline as part of its comprehensive preparations and response system. (Ahikam Pasion)
