Burgos bags 7 awards in Provincial Health Summit
THE Burgos local government received seven awards during the Provincial Health Summit and Gawad Parangal sa Kalusugan 2024 held on December 6 at the Monarch Hotel in Calasiao.
The program recognizes the unwavering commitment and best practices of local government units (LGU), including the municipal and barangay health and nutrition workers’ collective and individual efforts in improving and sustaining health services.
Mayor Jesster Allan Valenzuela, along with Councilor Fred Christian Nacar, Committee Chairperson on Health and Sanitation, and Municipal Health Officer Dra. Trina Marie Aquino received the certificates and Plaques of Commendation.
Among these awards are: Best Performing LGU in National Immunization Program; Best Performing LGU in Maternal Health & Family Planning Program; Best Performing LGU in Rabies Prevention and Control Program; Best Performing LGU in Measles-Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity, Top 5; 2023 Green Banner Seal of Compliance (2nd Year), 1st Place; 2023 Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of the Year, 3rd Place; 2023 Barangay Nutrition Scholar of the Year.
Valenzuela said that these awards were a recognition of the LGU’s sincere commitment in delivering health development services to the people of Burgos. (Kim Gealogo)
