Ex-Urdaneta employee nabbed in anti-drug operation
A joint buy-bust operation by police and anti-narcotics units along the bypass road in Barangay Camantiles in Urdaneta City on December 1 led to the arrest of a former employee of the city local government.
Ronnie Rosario, 55, former administrative aide at the Urdaneta City Hall, resident of Barangay Catablan, Urdaneta City and identified as a high-value target, was caught in possession of approximately 100 grams of suspected shabu or methamphetamine with an estimated market value of P408,000.
Seized items included six heat-sealed sachets of shabu, a P500 bill, boodle money, two improvised tooters with drug residue, and a motorcycle, among others. A physical inventory and marking of the evidence were conducted onsite in the presence of police, media, and barangay officials, using body-worn cameras and alternative recording devices.
Charges for violations of Section 5, 11, and 12 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act have been filed against Rosario. (Eva Visperas)
