TWO young members of the San Carlos City Archery Club asserted their mastery in marksmanship when they took home four gold, one silver, and one bronze medals in the 1st Bulacan Outdoor Archery Tournament hosted by the Bulacan Archery Club on November 16-17 at the Fortunato F. Halili National High School in  Santa Maria, Bulacan.

Seventeen-year-old Leila Jell Cano of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation Special Science High School showcased her exceptional precision skills and bagged four gold medals in the Recurve Girls U18 Category (50 meters Qualifying Round, 50 meters Olympic Round, 60 meters Qualifying Round, sniff 60 meters Olympic Round.

Meanwhile, Yohance Poquiz, 17, from Turac National high School, grabbed a silver in the 60-meter Qualifying Rounds Recurve Boys U18 Category, plus a bronze finish in the Olympic Rounds.

Despite struggling from muddy tracks, heavy rains, and strong winds brought by Typhoon Pepito, the team scored remarkable feats in the tournament.

“This success would not have been possible without our archers’ dedication and love for the sport. The team demonstrated exceptional resilience, passion, and determination despite all the circumstances,” San Carlos Archery Club Head Coach Federico Lopez Jr. said. (Kim Gealogo)
