Rosario takes over Bataoil as LMP-Pangasinan president
MANAOAG Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario was elected new president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Pangasinan Chapter, replacing Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil who stepped down from the post to focus on his congressional campaign in next year’s elections.
Governor Ramon “Mon-mon” Guico III presided over the transition ceremony held at the Urduja House in Lingayen on November 4, with other key officials present, including LMP National President Atty. Mary Ann De Vera, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Virgilio Sison, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer in Lingayen Gabriel Cornel, and DILG Cluster Leader II Melinda Buada.
In his inaugural speech, Rosario emphasized the crucial role of unity and collective support in achieving success. “There is no successful leader without the support of the people,” he said, and vowed to continue the successful initiatives started during Bataoil’s tenure.
Bataoil, who served as LMP-Pangasinan Chapter president in the past five years, thanked the governor and other provincial leaders, including LMP National President Mayor JB Bernos, for their trust and support during his term.
The LMP is a nationwide organization of incumbent mayors in the province that aims to collectively advocate for issues and concerns affecting municipal-level governments. (Eva Visperas)
