DOH reviews hospital development plans for Pangasinan, LU
THE Department of Health (DOH) Ilocos Region office conducted a consultative review session to evaluate the Hospital Development Plans (HDPs) of various DOH and district hospitals in Pangasinan and La Union.
The review was intended to assess and ensure proper investment in health infrastructure along with the necessary human resources and sustainable financing for a comprehensive provincial health system.
Undersecretary for Universal Health Care Dr. Maria Rosario Vergeire emphasized that the HDPs serve as a clear roadmap, outlining long-term strategies and action plans necessary for achieving healthcare goals.
The HDP also integrates various resources and strategies, aiding in risk assessment and response, while ensuring that all stakeholders collaborate towards common objectives.
One of the primary goals of the HDP is to provide equitable, high-quality healthcare through the establishment of specialty centers, upgrades to existing facilities, and strengthen public-private partnerships for the next five years.
In Pangasinan, the Region 1 Medical Center, Conrado F. Estrella Regional and Trauma Medical Center, and the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Dagupan City are included in this initiative.
Regional Director Paula Paz Sydiongco said there are specific requirements and gaps that need to be addressed in line with the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan (PHFDP) 2040. (Ahikam Pasion)
