THE National Children’s Month, with the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines,” kicked off in Manaoag during the local government’s flag-raising ceremony on November 4, with learners from child development centers across various barangays in attendance.

This year’s celebration aims to heighten community awareness on the importance of safety and protection of children.

Following the launching ceremony, children, some of them carrying placards, participated in an advocacy walk at the municipal compound to highlight the importance of creating a safe community for the young.

Various activities aimed at combating violence and discrimination against children and inspiring every family to be part of promoting a safe environment for children are lined up throughout the month. (Jamella G. Samano/Intern)
