FESTIVITIES for the Agew na Sta. Barbara kicked off on October 30 despite overcast skies and intermittent rain due to Typhoon Leon (international name: Kong-Rey).

Councilor Llyod Jethro Zaplan, also the Liga ng mga Barangay President, said several scheduled activities proceeded as planned, including a Thanksgiving Mass, a day of gratitude known as PATMOS, and the unveiling of a historical marker.

A cultural show featured the talents of local children, showcasing their singing and dancing abilities while also highlighting the history of Sta. Barbara.

However, the live concert scheduled for the celebration was postponed and will be rescheduled once the weather improves.

As part of the celebration, the Sta. Barbara Museum is also set to be inaugurated with representatives from the National Historical Commission (NHC) expected to attend the event. (Ahikam Pasion)
