Mapandan HS students win 24 medals in dance competition
SIX students of the Mapandan National High School were honored by the local government for their impressive performance at the two-day 4th Cordillera Dance Festival DanceSport Competition in Baguio City from October 5 to 6, where they seized eight gold, seven silver, and nine bronze medals.
Mapandan Mayor Karl Christian Vega, along with Councilors Pak Eric Parayno and Freddie Penullar, congratulated and gave cash incentives to the students during a courtesy call at the municipal hall on October 21.
Karl Cervas and Kurthleimae Masada placed first in Juvenile 2A, 2B, 2C standard and in Juvenile 2C standard.
Masada won third and fifth place in Solo Juvenile Slow Waltz, and Solo Juvenile 2C Standard Tango, respectively; Cervas placed sixth in Solo Juvenile SD Quickstep. Marilyn Martinez won three silver medals in Solo Junior SD Slow Waltz, Solo Junior SD Tango and Solo Junior SD Quickstep.
The pair of Jorge Aquino and Kylie Mosada bagged third place in UnderĀ 21C Standard and Inter High School C Standard, and fifth places in Youth C Standard and Youth C Standard. Aquino was solo third placer in Youth SD Slow Walk and Solo Quickstep Closed, and fourth place in Solo Youth SD Tango.
