Pangasinan backed Duterte’s drug war

THE continuing probe of the drug war by the QuadCom at the House of Representatives is nothing but a trial by publicity in aid of the reelection of its chairmen and their confederates and to put an end to the Dutertes’ continued political influence.

The hypocritical motive is not about finding justice for the alleged victims of the extrajudicial killings but to fully discredit the still popular Duterte administration largely in part due to the war on drugs that he waged.

Curiously, none of the congressmen, except for the Makabayan bloc, who are actively pursuing the investigation today was ever heard to call out the Duterte administration for the reported deaths in the hands of pursuing law enforcers.

The agenda to implicate former President Rodrigo Duterte as the principal mastermind is even plain moronic. Of course, he was the “mastermind”. Didn’t he say: “I have to do this to protect our families and the future of our youth.”  He knew it’d be a bloody war against armed and dangerous criminal syndicates and our people faithfully trusted him with that mission in mind.

The attempt to make the drug war appear that Mr Duterte plotted a hideous crime against our people today is completely warped. What QuadCom refuses to mention are the facts that more than a million drug suspects were rounded up, more than 400,00 arrested suspects were given a chance to reform while 5,000 police officers have been charged in court by the Duterte administration for alleged abuses committed during the drug war.

In Pangasinan, there was only four drug suspects were shot dead in police raids but these were thoroughly investigated and these didn’t cause an uproar. Why? Because Pangasineneses supported the drug war that protected their families. More than 10,000 were arrested and surrendered throughout the drug war and more than 7,000 availed of reform programs.

One barangay resident in a remote area in Lingayen told The PUNCH that the neighborhood store that used to be a convenient meet-up place every night for drug pushers had closed as early as 7pm. A market vendor said she was helpless when her son kept stealing inside their home to support his addiction and that she had to surrender him to the police to take advantage of the police’s and local government’s reform program.

If there’s anything that Mr Duterte could be guilty of, it was providing the results for his avowed mission: to protect families from clutches of dangerous drug syndicates., QuadCom has no intention of showing that Duterte’s deadly drug war benefitted Filipino families.
What it is, is to paint Mr. Duterte’s image as a criminal. (Note: By corrupt congressmen).
