FORMER Pangasinan Governor and 5th District Rep. Amado Espino Jr. is eyeing a return to Congress as the first nominee of the party-list Abante Pangasinan Ilokano (API) in next year’s midterm elections.

He filed his Certificate of Nomination and Certificate of Acceptance of Nomination (CoN-CAN) of API before the Commission on Elections central office in Manila on October 6.

API’s CoN-CAN was filed by API Secretary-General and Second Nominee, Atty. Nelson Valdez Gayo, incumbent vice mayor of Laoac town, along with API Political Officer Luis Brillantes.

The Espino patriarch is the father and namesake of former Gov. Amado Espino III, who is seeking his old seat as official API candidate versus incumbent Gov. Ramon Guico III.
