Sibling dispute turns tragic as 1 died

A heated argument between two siblings in Sto. Tomas town took a deadly turn, resulting in a fatal stabbing.

The victim, identified as Roberto Mindaros Garcia, aged 58, lost his life in the altercation while the suspect, his younger brother Claudio Mindaros Garcia, 41, a fellow resident of Barangay Sto. Domingo, who mindlessly stabbed him, fled and is currently the subject of police manhunt.

The incident was reported to the police by Evangeline Garcia Diaz, a local resident who witnessed the stabbing. According to police investigation, the confrontation occurred late in the evening when both victim and suspect were under the influence of alcohol.

Rider collides with electric post, dies

A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcycle rider in Calasiao town.

Edgar Sarmiento Datugan, a 41-year-old driver operator from Baybay Lopez, Binmaley, was navigating Barangay Quesban on his way home when he failed to notice an elevated portion of the road, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and hit an electric post.

The victim suffered severe head injuries, leading to his immediate demise. Skid marks at the scene confirmed that the motorcycle had skidded before crashing into the post.

Driver injured after dozing off

AN accident occurred along the national road in Barangay Maningding, Sta. Barbara when the car he was driving crashed into a wall after the driver, 31-year-old Jonas Milanio Cerezo, dozed off behind the wheel.

He sustained injuries in the crash and damaged the wall and gate of a property owned by Gary Anthony Perez Rosales.

Emergency responders rushed Cerezo to the hospital, where he received treatment for bruises and abrasions. Alcohol tests confirmed that he was neither tipsy nor drunk.

Store manager nabbed after stealing convenience store profits

A convenience store manager in Bautista was discovered to have allegedly stole nearly half a million pesos from the establishment, following an inventory report prepared by the area branch manager.

The store owner, Alyssa Elaine Lorica Cabreros, 27 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion East, reported the incident to the police.

The suspect, 23-year-old Kathy Jane Roilo Beltran, who resides in Barangay Poblacion West, admitted not depositing the correct daily sales. She is now facing a qualified theft case.

Bike-riding farmer dies in motorcycle collision

A 75-year-old farmer riding a bicycle in the town of Mangatarem died after a 19-year-old motorcyclist collided with him.

Avelino Jacusalim Javinar, a farmer from Barangay Macarang, sustained injuries to various parts of his body after being hit by a motorcycle driven by Lorence Nicole Menorca Sipat, a resident of Barangay Cabaluyan 1st.

According to police investigation, the motorcycle had swerved to avoid another vehicle and struck the rear portion of the elderly man’s bicycle.

Both Javinar and Sipat were promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention, but Javinar died while undergoing treatment.

Cop rider injured after hitting a dog

IN a separate incident, a police officer was injured after colliding with a dog while riding a motorcycle in Pozorrubio. PMSg Albert Labson Laguitao, a 36-year-old officer assigned to the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Tayug, was en route to the Police Regional Office 1 in San Fernando City, La Union, for a physical fitness test.

As he rode along the National Road in Brgy. Rosario, Pozorrubio, a dog suddenly darted across his path, which he tried to avoid but it was too late. He was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.
