Coconut farmers get agricultural grade salt fertilizer
THE Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) distributed 800 bags of agricultural grade salt fertilizer to some 100 coconut farmers in the towns of Bolinao and Dasol.
This fertilizer will be used to fertilize some 20,000 coconut trees planted in over 200 hectares of land in the two towns.
Paul Adrian Batas, PCA Region I Agriculturist, said the distribution of the fertilizer is in compliance with the Republic Act 11895, also known as the Philippine Salt Industry Development Act.
Under the law, PCA is mandated to use domestically produced salt in the fertilization of coconuts.
AGSF is one of the fertilizers that helps increase the productivity of coconuts aside from thickening the meat of its nuts from which farmers can increase the productivity of coconuts. (Kim Gealogo)
