DOCTOR Roland Joseph Mejia, director of the Region 1 Medical Center, strongly denied allegations linking him and his son, Mangaldan Vice Mayor Mark Stephen Mejia, to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), saying the rumors are nothing but fake news.
He added that they have already reached out to the cybercrime division of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office to address the dissemination of the false information.
“Whoever is behind this deceptive news must be held accountable,” said Mejia in an interview over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan.
The allegations are being spread on social media, particularly, on Facebook through dubious accounts.
The elder Mejia said the attack could be politically motivated because of his son’s expected participation in the upcoming 2025 Midterm elections. (Ahikam Pasion)
