A boatman tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning while preparing to pick up tourists on one of the Hundred Islands in Alaminos City on August 25.

The 28-year-old victim, Alexander Rivera, was with fellow boatman Joshua Rivera, who immediately sought help from Alaminos City rescuers after the former fell unconscious from the lightning strike.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Western Pangasinan District Hospital. (Eva Visperas)
