Cockfighting referee shot dead

A cockfighting referee, identified as 40-year-old Ruel Tulagan Macaraeg from Barangay Polong Norte, Malasiqui, lost his life after being shot while on board a tricycle in his hometown.

The perpetrator, riding on a motorcycle, used a .45 caliber firearm, hitting the victim on the left cheek that went through and through.  Local authorities are still investigating the motive behind the incident.

Father, daughter injured in stabbing incident

A man and his teenage daughter were rushed to the hospital after being attacked by a neighbor in the town of San Nicolas. According to police investigation, Loreto Descargar Gollena, 57, and his 15-year-old daughter were walking along the road in Barangay San Felipe West when they were confronted by the suspect, Mario Lucas Bibat.

An argument ensued, escalating to violence when the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victims twice. Authorities are still on the manhunt for the assailant.

Son shoots, injures dad

A 31-year-old man is facing parricide charges after allegedly shooting his father in the town of Sison. The victim, Ogie Remeindo Lagmay, an electrician residing in Barangay Bulaoaen West, told the police that his son, Mark Dorado Espaniola, a construction worker, confronted him about the behavior of one of his siblings.

Following the initial confrontation where neighbors intervened to pacify the situation, the son returned home later, shouting and making threats. In response, the father engaged in conversation, which further angered the son and fired several shots at his father, who sustained a wound from a bullet that grazed his head.The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident and remains at large.

9 houses razed in Binmaley

A fire broke out in Barangay Caloocan Sur, Binmaley, reducing nine houses to ashes.

According to investigators, the fire originated from the room of Renalyn Venuya Calma, aunt of a fifteen-year-old named Peal, who noticed the flames and immediately sought help from neighbors.  The fire rapidly spread to adjacent houses. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Corpse found in sack in Lingayen

Local authorities found the lifeless body of a man encased in a sack in Barangay Lasip, Lingayen following a call from Barangay Chairman Rolando Baltazar Tuazon. The incident was reported by 32-year-old farmer Ariel Oros Prado.

According to witnesses, Prado was feeding cattle near the river when local fishermen alerted him to the sack containing a lifeless body. The police have contacted the family of the victim to confirm identity based on identification cards found on the body.

Binmaley man fatally attacked by neighbor

A 21-year-old man lost his life due to a stabbing attack by a neighbor with whom he had a heated argument along with a housemate upon returning home after consuming alcohol.Mark Luther Mendoza, a resident of Barangay Biec, succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.

The suspect, identified as Richard Guttierez, attempted to intervene in the confrontation of his two neighbors, but the situation escalated and he ended up in a fit of rage. Authorities swiftly apprehended the suspect, who expressed remorse to the victim’s family. He now faces charges of homicide.
